JPEG, PNG or WebP — up to 30 MB

Everything runs in your browser. Your image is never uploaded.

Stripping metadata isn't enough for AI images.

Removing EXIF hides where a photo came from — but AI-generated images still carry pixel-level fingerprints. Check yours, or rebuild real-camera authenticity.

What's inside

A photo says more than you think.

Every JPEG straight from a phone or camera carries an EXIF block. Here's what it can expose.

Exact GPS location

Where the photo was taken — often down to the doorstep. The single biggest privacy leak in a phone photo.

Device & lens

Camera make, model and lens — a fingerprint that links every photo you post back to the same device.

Date & time

The exact second of capture, plus the timezone. Enough to place you somewhere at a moment.

Software & edits

The app or AI tool that produced or edited the file — including 'Made with AI' hints some generators write.

How it runs

See it. Strip it. Done.

01

Drop your image

JPEG, PNG or WebP. The file stays in your browser — it is never uploaded to a server.

02

See what's inside

We read the EXIF locally and show you the GPS, device, timestamp and software fields the file is carrying.

03

Remove & download

One click strips EXIF, GPS and camera metadata and downloads a clean copy. Nothing leaves your device.

Privacy model

The file never leaves your device.

Zero upload

The image is read and cleaned in browser memory. We can't see what we never receive.

Local processing

EXIF parsing and stripping run on your device — disconnect your network and it still works.

No retention

Nothing is stored or logged. Close the tab and it's gone.

Instant

No queue, no server round-trip. The clean file downloads immediately.

FAQ

EXIF removal, answered.

What is EXIF metadata?+

EXIF is the block of data cameras and phones embed in a photo — GPS coordinates, camera make and model, lens, the exact date and time, exposure settings, and often the software used. It travels with the file when you share it, so anyone who receives the image can read it.

Is this EXIF remover really free and login-free?+

Yes. There's no account, no watermark and no limit. Everything runs in your browser, so there's no server cost to pass on to you and no file ever leaves your device.

Does removing EXIF change my image quality?+

For JPEGs, no — the metadata block is removed losslessly, so the pixels are untouched. PNG and WebP are re-exported through a canvas, which drops all metadata at effectively imperceptible quality cost.

Does social media already remove EXIF?+

Some platforms strip EXIF on upload, but not all, and not consistently — and it's still embedded in the original file you email, message or store. Removing it yourself before sharing is the only way to be sure.

Will this remove an AI watermark or make an AI image undetectable?+

No. Stripping metadata removes the 'where and how' tags, but AI-generated images still carry pixel-level fingerprints and, in some cases, invisible watermarks like SynthID. To check an image or rebuild real-camera authenticity, use the free AI Image Detector and the Photo Humanizer.

Is my image uploaded anywhere?+

Never. The EXIF is read and removed entirely in your browser tab. You can disconnect from the internet and the tool still works.

Strip the location. Keep the photo.

Clean an image now, then check whether it also reads as AI — or rebuild real-camera authenticity.
